Abstract:A total of 22 Aux/IAA genes were identified by bioinformatics methods and categorized into seven groups (A, B, C, D, E, F and G) by cluster analysis. These genes were unevenly distributed on 7 chromosomes with Chr 3 residing the largest number of 8 Aux/IAA genes. We investigated the expression patterns of these genes in the roots, stems, leaves, flowers, flower buds and fruits of peppers at different developmental stages. The expression level of Capana03g000310 was high in all studied tissue and period, indicating a constitutive expression pattern. Capana00g002758 was only detected in root and stem. Capana03g000311 and Capana06g001465 were only detected in flower organ and fruit, showing a specific expression pattern. The expression of Capana00g002644 and Capana01g001423 were significantly up–regulated, but the expression of Capana09g001096, Capana06g001308, Capana03g004455, Capana00g000845, Capana03g004568, Capana03g000244 and Capana03g000310 was significantly down–regulated under the treatment of 30 μmol/LABA. qRT–PCR results showed that abscisic acid (ABA) stress could generate positive / negative induction of some Aux/IAA genes in pepper.
