Abstract:In order to study the continuous cropping tolerance of sesame, Ganzhi–5, Ganzhi–9, Wanrongheizhima, Qingma, Jinhuangma, Wuningheizhima, Dongxiangheizhima, Ji–9014, Yushanheizhima, Yuzhi–11, Xianxixunyang, Zhongzhi–13, P13–2, WS46, Zhangshuhezhima were chosen for analysis. The result showed that under continuous cropping, germination rate (GR), germination potential (GP), germination index (GI), vigor index (VI), dry weight per plant (DWPP), capsules per plant (CPP), seeds per capsule (SPC) and yield per plant (YPP) decreased, while the plant top length (PTL), beginning of purusha part (BPP) and blighted seed rate (BSR) increased. However, continuous cropping showed little effect on 1000 seed weight (TSW) of sesame. Combining with the results of correlation analysis and cluster analysis, GR and GI could be served as the indicators to evaluate the continuous cropping tolerance of sesame cultivars at germinating stage. In addition, the index pool of DWPP, CPP and YPP could be applied to assess the continuous cropping tolerance in field which based on the yield. As a result, Jinhuangma (C5) and Wuningheizhima (C6) showed stable continuous cropping tolerance, Yushanheizhima (C9) and Yuzhi–11 (C10) showed moderate continuous cropping tolerance, while Ganzhi–5 (C1), Ganzhi–9 (C2), and P13–2 (C13) showed stable continuous cropping sensitivity. The response of other cultivars to continuous cropping was not stable.
