Abstract:Both the field assessment and the detached leaf assay were used in this study to evaluate the black spot resistance of 36 rose varieties/species which were widely used in Beijing landscape. The result showed that:by using previous model, the difference of resistance to black spot disease among these 36 rose varieties/species can’t be obtained. Thus, the incidence of damaged leaves was introduced to the model to replace the incidence of black spot disease. Based on this, a more accurate, fast method to evaluate rose resistance to black spot was established. Using this new model, 4 immune varieties/species, 9 high resistant varieties/species, 15 medial susceptible varieties/species and 8 serious susceptible varieties/species were selected. The disease resistance rating score of Rosa roxburghii, Rosa multiflora var. inermis, Hybrid rugose and Rosa rugose were higher than modern rose. The rating score of climbing roses was higher than shrub roses and floribunda roses. The rating score of modern rose with orange flowers was higher than those with red flower and those with pink flowers, and the rating score of modern rose with white flowers was lowest.
