Abstract:The species, visiting frequency and resident time of flower-visiting insects on Calycopteris floribunda (Roxb.) Lam. (C. floribunda) in Yunnan Tongbiguan national nature reserve were observed in March 2016. The results showed that there were 9 species of flower-visiting insects on C. floribunda, which belonged to Lepidoptera, Hymenoptera, Diptera and Zoraptera. The visiting frequency of most visiting insects was below 5 times and the resident time was less than 80 seconds. The insects almost stopped visiting when the temperature was higher than 25.5 ℃ or lower than 18 ℃. The limited species, low visiting frequency and short resident time of the flower-visiting insects were the prime reasons causing the endangerment of C. floribunda.
