By taking crossing offspring of Populus deltoides ‘D189’ and P. deltoides Bartr. el. ‘Lux’× P. deltoides Bartr ‘Shanhaiguan’ as parents, the plasmid carried with Vitis CBF3 (VaCBF3) was transferred into poplar through stigma-drop by Pollen-Tube Pathway approach. The results from PCR–analysis showed that 5 out of 52 transformed offspring were amplified in the form of target stripe, which indicated that the target gene had been integrated into poplar genome. The result could provide a clue for further research on new cold-resistance poplar via pollen-tube pathway approach.
