Abstract:To explore the function of Xylotrchus rusticus L. (X. rusticus L.) associated fungi in the selection of its host, electroantennogram (EAG) was used to assay the antennal response of X. rusticus L. to its 46 associated fungi. The result showed that there were11 strains arousing obvious EAG response in adult X. rusticus L., among them there were 6 strains, the EAG aroused by which showed significant differences compared to the control. The female adults of X. rusticus L. showed a high EAG response to the culture medium of 2 Fusanium strains, with the highest relative average magnitude of EAG reaching 201.67% and 199.00% respectively, which is about 2 times that of the control, with very significant difference. There were 17 strains arousing obvious EAG response in male adult of X. rusticus L., among them 3 strain showed significant differences in EAG response when compared to the control.
