Abstract:A high Cd-resistance strain (No.6–5) was screened from cadmium contaminated soil by acclimation of concentration gradient approach. The strain was identified as Cupriavidus from morphological examination, physiological and biochemical characteristics as well as 16S rDNA sequence and phylogenetic analysis. The strain could endure 20 mmol/L maximum concentration of cadmium (Cd2+), and the maximum adsorption capacity could reach to 72.18% in LB medium with 0.54 mmol/L Cd2+. The strain was also proved to have the ability to resist Pb2+, Cu2+, Cr2+, Mn2+, Zn2+ through experiment of minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC).
