Abstract:Abstract: Three hundreds and sixty images of different positions (upper, middle and lower) of tobacco leaves including fresh, during and after curing samples were used to get the features of shape, color and texture by image processing technology for digital analysis which can reflect the morphology of tobacco leaf. The results showed that: the shape features of tobacco leaves changed slowly in leaf-yellowing stage, rapidly in leaf-drying stage and slowly in stem-drying stage, the color features changed rapidly in leaf-yellowing stage, slowly in leaf-drying and stem-drying stage, the texture features changed slowly in leaf-yellowing stage, rapidly in leaf-drying stage. And the shape features changed the most in lower leaves, less in the middle leaves, the average of red component of the middle leaves was the largest, next were the upper and the lower leaves, the average of green component of the middle leaves was the largest, next were the lower and the upper leaves, the average of blue component of the lower leaves was the largest, next were the middle and the upper leaves, and the texture features showed no significant change among different positions.
