Abstract:The chlorophyll content, net photosynthetic rate and resistance to powdery mildew in 8 test materials including five local main rubber tree varieties and three new planting materials selectively bred by rubber research institute of Chinese Academy of Tropical Agriculture Sciences were observed and compared. The results showed that except for a local rubber tree variety Reyan72059, there was no significant difference in contents of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, total chlorophyll, carotenoid and chloroplasts pigment among the tested materials. Chlorophyll content was significantly correlated to photosynthetic rate but not to SPAD value, and chlorophyll a content showed significant negative correlation with photosynthetic rate and resistance to powdery mildew.
