Loropetalum chinense var. rubrum ‘huayejimu 1’ is a bud sport of Loropetalum chinense var. rubrum ‘mizhimeihong’, which selected by College of Horticulture and Landscape of Hunan Agriculture University. Its main phenological periods are ahead of its mother plant, the color of spot and plaque on leaves are not irregular, especially the new leaves are more prominent, and the petals are compound color of red purple with damask, and it is vigorous with disease resistance. It can blossom 3 to 4 times every year. The variety can be used in gardens, courtyards, streets and parterre, with high ornamental value and application prospect.
