Abstract:The target compound 3,5-O-dicinnamic acid-1,2-O-isopropylidene--D-xylofuranose was synthesized using DCC as dehydration reagent, the structure of which was confirmed by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and MS spectra. This precursor was pyrolysised at 300, 600 and 900 ℃ and applied in cigarette flavoring. The results showed that there were 51 kinds of aromatic aldehydes, ketones, acids, esters in the pyrolysis products of the target compound. At concentration of 0.01%, this compound could enhance the aroma quality and the volume of smoke, reduce irritancy and improve the aftertaste.
