The nectariless traits cotton (97014) and nectary cotton(TM-1 ) were used as materials, and systemic studies on morphological and cytological characteristics were included in the paper. The main results are as follows:the morphological investigation indicated that the nectaries were lacked on the main nervation, calyx and bract of cotton line 97014 compared with TM-1. Alveolate hollow was absent at main nervation of the mature leaf. There was no nectaries on the leaf of nectariless line, but all other morphological features of them are almost same. Results of cytological analysis showed that 97014 lacked nectariferous structure. Where nectary inserted were parenchyma cells, cupped structure and brown nectariferous substance on the lower epidermis were not found.
